My Client is recruiting for a Head of Video to join their Marketing Agency in Braintree, Essex.
Job Context:
The role requires someone with a strong video production pedigree – someone who can bring a clear understanding of the technical skills, video processes, and implementation insight needed to deliver high-quality video projects. They will also need to be creative and their passion for video as an art form will be able to inspire those around them.
Job Responsibilities:
• Leading and managing a team of individuals.
• Observing, monitoring, and structuring (as required) the Video Production department and aligning it with the expectations of the business.
• Being involved in all new projects from a strategic and creative direction perspective to plan for the delivery of best practice-driven, high-end results.
• Delivering creative treatments in conjunction with the Creative Director to sell to clients and/or form part of wider company pitches. This may also require storyboards, scriptwriting, narration and selecting optimal media types for deployment of the idea.
• Being responsible for, or overseeing: all approval processes that might be required for each shoot or project, such as location permissions, tv/music licensing, model releases, copyrights, etc.
• Being responsible for, or overseeing: all video shoot planning, scouting & selecting shoot locations and models/actors suitable for each project.
• Being responsible for, or overseeing: all crew hire, directing & coaching talent, transportation arrangements for crew & equipment and ensuring all location power needs are considered.
• Working with the client services team and attending client meetings to build relationships with clients and assist in selling our video offering.
• Evaluation of analytics to further bolster our expertise and create compelling case studies for further work.
Person Specification:
• Degree educated and at least 3 years’ experience in relevant industries.
• Previous agency experience and examples of relevant work will be favourable.
• 3+ years of experience in camera operation and post-production environments.
• Extensive experience of working with Clearcast and getting relevant adverts through the approval process. Widely knowledgeable and experienced in the full Video Production process, from idea conception into pre-production, filming and finally post-production.
• A strong understanding of professional cameras (Sony PMW-F3 or similar), prosumer camcorders (Sony NXCAM HXR NX3 or similar), various HD and SD formats.
• Strong design understanding including layout, colour application, typography and illustration plus storyboarding ideas and concepts will be required.
• Strategic and objective-driven throughout the process to ensure not only the best creative output, but also the best results for our clients.
• A good understanding of various types of cameras, lenses and techniques required to create a certain shot or visual style.
• Audio includes small format mixers, compression, EQ, effects processors, audio recording techniques for studio and field, multi-track and waveform editing.
• Full and competent understanding of Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premier Pro (or comparable alternatives) will be expected.
